About This Drink
Naesip Munro is made in Scotland in small batches, drawing on Scottish gooseberry and juniper as its botanical anchors alongside a wider botanical blend. The name references the Scottish hill-climbing tradition — Munros being the mountains over 3,000 feet — and the drink is positioned at the more complex, less sweet end of the AF spirit category. The flavour profile is genuinely bitter, which sets it apart from the many AF spirits that hedge toward sweetness to hide the absence of alcohol. Scottish gooseberry brings a sharp, tart fruit note. Juniper sits behind it, bringing the familiar gin-like backbone. Together they create a drink with what the brand calls a "lasting backbone uncommon in non-alcoholic drinks" — and that is a fair description of the dry, herbal character that carries through to the finish. It is free from added sugar and artificial colouring. Serve over ice with light tonic or premium lemonade. At 0.5% ABV it is in the alcohol-free legal category. Currently sold direct in the UK.
