About This Drink
The 1983 Lager is Fierce's standard year-round lager, named after the year Aberdeen FC won the European Cup Winners' Cup. The alcohol-free version keeps the identity intact while dropping the ABV to 0.5%, brewed with golden malt and cold-conditioned for a crisp finish. It pours a clear pale golden with a modest white head. The nose is clean and grainy with a mild floral hop note. On the palate there's a light, slightly sweet malt base, soft carbonation and a clean dry finish. The oats in the grain bill add just a touch of body without making it feel heavy. At 17 calories per 100ml this is a lean drink. It contains gluten, unlike some of Fierce's other 0.5% beers that use gluten-removed malt, so worth noting if that matters to you. A straightforward match-day lager.
