Cucumber, Lemongrass & Tulsi is a limited edition spring release from Equinox, which explains why it does not appear year-round on their site. It uses the same organic Chun-Mee green tea base as the rest of the range, brewed raw. Then comes the more interesting part: tulsi (holy basil), matcha, and ginseng are added alongside cucumber, lemongrass and lime. That is a functional ingredient list by any measure, but the result does not taste medicinal. On the palate it is subtle. Cucumber brings a cool, clean quality up front; the lemongrass adds a mild citrus-herbal note in the background. Lime lifts the finish. The matcha contributes a faint earthiness without the bitterness you might expect. It sits lower on kombucha sharpness than most of the others in the range. At 12 calories per 100ml it is the lightest in the lineup. Tulsi (also known as holy basil) has a reputation for mildly calming properties; ginseng tends in the opposite direction. Whether you notice either is another matter. What is more apparent is that this is one of the more restrained Equinox flavours. If you find the citrus and berry variants too assertive, the cucumber base makes this considerably easier to sit with.
