Birmingham Brewing Company built their alcohol-free range around a single conviction: brew the beer properly, keep the alcohol low from the start, and don't try to cook it off afterwards. The Brummie Pilsner follows the same principle as the Pale Ale and Stout in the Sober Brummie lineup — naturally fermented to 0.5% ABV rather than stripped of alcohol post-fermentation. In a pilsner, where there's nowhere to hide behind big hop flavour or roasted malt, that decision is tested more directly. The result is a clean, straightforward lager. Pale straw in colour with a white head and lively carbonation, it's lighter in body than the Pale Ale — as a pilsner should be — with crisp grain at the centre, a hint of lemon pith, and a mild floral hop note. The bitterness is restrained and fades quickly. It doesn't try to be more than it is. Like the rest of the Sober Brummie range it's vegan and gluten-free, brewed using 100% renewable energy at the Stirchley site.
