About This Drink
Lautus's Sauvignon Blanc — known as the Savvy White — is one of the more convincing dealcoholised whites in the range. Sauvignon Blanc has a naturally high aromatic intensity and plenty of acidity, two things that survive the spinning cone de-alcoholisation process better than some varieties. The result is a wine that actually reads as Sauvignon Blanc rather than something vaguely white and inoffensive. The fruit is tropical rather than grassy: pineapple, passionfruit, melon, and white peach. There's a subtle natural carbonation in the glass that adds a welcome zing. The palate opens slightly tart, then mellows into something apple-y and rounded, with the crisp acidity holding through to the finish. At 11 kcal per 100ml it's the lightest-calorie wine in the Lautus range. Confirmed vegan. Available through UK specialist AF retailers.
