Hopollo
A non-alcoholic IPA showcasing Polish hop varieties, dry-hopped at 15g per litre with Amora Preta, Vermelho, Ksiazjecy and Marynka.
About This Drink
Hopollo uses hop varieties rarely found in non-alcoholic beer. The selection, Amora Preta, Vermelho, Ksiazjecy and Marynka, leans toward herbal and spicy character rather than the tropical fruit notes common in American or New Zealand varieties. Oats and rye alongside wheat and barley give the beer a softer texture than most. The aroma is green and herbal, with citrus peel, light resin and a spicy, slightly woody note from the Polish hops. On the palate the hops hit early. Biscuity malt sits below the surface, and chocolate and coffee emerge in the finish alongside a lingering, clean bitterness. For a non-alcoholic beer, the body is convincing: crisp without being watery. The hop rate is high at 15g per litre. A beer aimed squarely at drinkers who know what they want from an IPA.
