About This Drink
Southwestern Distillery in Cornwall took three years developing this, and the starting point was always their Cornish Dry Gin. The same botanical DNA is here: juniper, fresh orange zest, Cornish gorse flowers, sea buckthorn, violet, and a pinch of local sea salt. The result sits at under 0.5% ABV, which puts it in the low-alcohol category technically, though that's in the range naturally present in ripe fruit. It's a convincing non-alcoholic gin substitute. Dry pine and lemon sherbet on the nose, fresh juniper and sweet orange blossom as you taste it, and a clean citrus-floral finish that the gorse flowers carry distinctively. The sea salt adds a very faint mineral quality that rounds it out. Plant-based, free from added sugar and artificial flavourings. The brand recommends serving over ice with Mediterranean tonic, red grapefruit, and a sprig of thyme — and that's exactly the right call.
