About This Drink
Ambar Triple Zero is a 0.0% alcohol-free lager from La Zaragozana, the independent Zaragoza brewery in Spain that has been producing alcohol-free beer since 1976. Bottom-fermented with barley malt, rice, and dietary fibre, the lager base is then dealcoholised by slow evaporation at low temperature and pressure, a gentler route than heat-based stripping. The Triple Zero name reflects three commitments built into the recipe: no alcohol, no sugar, carbon-neutral production. In the glass it pours clear pale gold with a compact white head. The nose is quiet: fresh barley malt, a trace of cereal, subdued grassy hop notes. On the palate it is light-bodied and crisp, with mild hop bitterness and a clean dry finish. The zero-sugar formulation is noticeable: this lager does not rely on sweetness to compensate for the missing alcohol, which gives it a leaner character than most budget AF lagers. At 18 kcal per 100ml it sits comfortably in the lower calorie bracket. A reasonable companion for drink-free days when you want a lager that does not draw attention to itself. The slow evaporation process keeps more fermentation character intact than heat-based alternatives.
