Original
The unflavoured expression of Remedy's kombucha. Thirty-day fermented tea base with no added fruit flavours, zero sugar.
About This Drink
Most kombucha brands lead with their fruitiest flavour. Remedy Original is the one that doesn't bother with that. It's the raw fermented tea base, the thing all the other variants are built on, without fruit flavourings or herbs added on top. The taste is what kombucha actually tastes like before you soften it with mango or raspberry: tart, mildly vinegary, with genuine black tea character showing through. Erythritol and stevia are still present, adding a faint background sweetness that stops it being aggressively sour. The carbonation is lighter than the rest of the range. There's an earthiness to it, a slight funkiness on the nose, that the flavoured versions mostly obscure. If you want to know what Remedy's 30-day fermentation process actually produces, this is the place to start. It's not particularly easy to drink, but it's honest. Worth trying once before going back to the flavoured versions, or, for some people, the one they'll end up preferring.
