Remedy Kombucha is a Melbourne-born kombucha brand founded in 2012 by Sarah and Emmet Condon, who started brewing on their kitchen bench at home. Kombucha is a fermented tea, and Remedy's range is produced through a traditional natural fermentation process: organic black and green tea is brewed with raw organic sugar, then fermented for 30 days with a live culture known as a SCOBY (a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast). That long-aged process converts all the sugar into organic acids, so the finished drinks are alcohol-free, with any trace of alcohol from fermentation kept below 0.5%.

Because the kombucha is raw and unpasteurised, it retains live cultures, antioxidants and organic acids throughout the range. After fermentation the drinks are sweetened with organic stevia and organic erythritol, and each serve contains less than 10mg of caffeine. Remedy states the range is suitable for people with diabetes and for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

From that kitchen-bench start, the brand has grown to produce more than 10 million litres of kombucha a year. In September 2022 Remedy opened a 5-star green-rated fermentary in Dandenong South, Victoria, and its 1.25-litre bottles are made from 100% recycled material. The drinks are available across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
