Founded by four friends, Dom, Donat, Ben, and Pascal, the brand was shaped by the Swiss natural landscape. The founders identified an opportunity to create spirit replacements using Swiss botanicals and traditional distillation techniques. The name reflects the sourcing model: ingredients are drawn from nine selected Swiss meadows, obtained from small local farmers working to sustainable standards. The botanical roster includes lavender, angelica root, aronia berry, pine tips, orange mint, lemon grass, coriander seeds, rose petals, bitter orange zest, pink grapefruit, and Tasmanian pepper, all combined with pure Swiss water and natural flavours.

Production uses traditional copper pot distillation, in which the liquid is worked through the still by hand.

The brand applies a consistent approach to materials. Bottles are made from 100% recycled glass and labels use FSC certified paper. 9 Meadows also supports FREETHEBEES, a Swiss non-profit working to protect wild bee populations.
